Explaining the Uses of Valve Sacks
A valve on the bag allows quick and easy closing after filling and eliminates the need for sewing. They can be manufactured with internal and external valves with tamper-evident heat seal valve sacks also available. If you are dealing with fine powders, you can also have valve sacks with a 'tuck-in' valve. It is also important that valve bags are fully filled, as it is the weight of the product which holds the valve closed.
The valve is an integral part of the bag as when filled, the valve sack takes on a cube shape which makes it easier to palletise. Plastic valve bags are also available with embossed stripes on the body which improves stability when the bags are put on pallets or stacked.
Polythene valve bags are mainly used for powders such as dyes, foodstuffs and cement plus they can also be used to pack plastic polymers.
Polypropylene valve bags are the toughest sack available, making them ideal for heavy-duty materials. Using a coating or liner also makes them suitable for fine powdered products.
